As well as the winning the title ‘Cabbie of the year 2012’, the very lucky taxi driver will also win a year’s free taxi insurance and a cheque for £1,000. A worthy prize for a taxi driver with a heart of gold!
There is also a prize of £500 for second place and a prize of £250 for third place.
To enter the competition, the taxi driver or their nominator needs to describe why they are worthy of winning the competition, in no more than 150 words and the winner will be decided by Swinton’s expert judging panel.
The competition opens tomorrow on the 1st February 2012 and ends on the 30th April 2012. The lucky winners will be announced at the presentation ceremonies, held at the Private Hire and Taxi Monthly in May 2012 at the Ricoh Area, the UK’s largest private hire and taxi trade exhibition.
Swinton Taxi Division spokesperson, Alex Cooke, said, “Taxi drivers do so much for their community with many of us relying on them on a daily basis, whether it’s to get to and from school or work, and even in emergency situations. We’re urging all those taxi drivers or those who know a taxi driver who continuously drives the extra mile for their customers to enter our competition.
“Perhaps they’ve raised lots of money for charity, helped someone in need or have simply served their community flawlessly throughout their career. Swinton Taxi Division and the taxi industry want to recognise these achievements in our Cabbie of the Year 2012 competition. With fantastic prizes up for grabs, it would be foolish to drive away from this opportunity.”
If you would like to enter, or nominate someone, you’ll find the application form in the February, March and April issues of PHTM magazine. You can also email firstname.lastname@example.org.
