Toyota Motor Company The Toyota Motor Company was established back in 1937, it was a spin off company from Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, and they were the world leaders in weaving machinery. The Toyoda Automatic Loom Works Company was headed by Japan's 'King of Inventors' Sakichi Toyoda. They sold the patent rights from one of his machines to Platt Brothers (UK) which provided the money for the development and test building of Toyota's first cars. In August 1997 it was the 60th anniversary of Toyoda Automatic Company. The fledgling company founded by Kiichiro Toyoda, Sakichi's son, has since blossomed into the leader that it is today. In 1950 the company had its one and only strike by the workers. Labor and management emerged from this stoppage firmly committed to the principles of mutual trust and dependence, and that corporate philosophy still guides our growth today. Toyota launched its first car in late 1947 but the building of vehicles outside Japan didn't begun until 1959 at a small plant in Brazil and they soon had production happening all over the world. The Toyota Company believes in localizing its operations to provide customers with the products they need where they need them. Toyota also has a global network of design and 'Research and Development' facilities, embracing the three major car markets of Japan, North America and Europe. Toyota does its very best in every community to be responsible and give the best to its citizens, this gives Toyota close relationships with organizations. They also provide good sponsorship for the locals. As things stand today Toyota is the worlds 3rd largest car manufacturer in unit sales and in net sales. It is the biggest Japanese car manufacturer making more than 5.5 million cars per year that is the same as one every 6 seconds, in the time it has taken to write this paragraph at least another three or four cars will have been produced!
