The Honda Accord

With the new Honda Accord, launched in 2003, came a new 2.2i-CTDi diesel engine. It's a first for Honda as it was completely designed and developed in-house by them as an answer to the demands for powerful, economical diesel engines.
The Accord is powered by a 2.2 i-CDTi 16v DOHC common rail direct Injection turbo diesel engine which produces 140 PS at 4000rpm, enabling it to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 9.5 seconds and can reach speeds of up to 131mph. This engine is amazingly refined combining responsive acceleration with low vibration and engine noise. It is also economical returning 52.3 on a combined cycle with
CO2 emissions of 143 g/km.
The motorway is where this car feels most at home. It's powerful 2.2 engine can cruise effortlessly at motorway speeds, allowing you to cover a great distance at ease. Overall though, the Accord offers a very nice and reassuring drive, coping well with potholes and uneven surfaces and feeling surefooted at high speeds. All Accord models in this range are fitted with the double wishbone front/5-link double wishbone rear suspension design, resulting in w well-balanced neutral handling which corners well with very little body roll.
On a practical level, the interior of the Accord has a wealth of thoughtful features including, illuminated ignition switch, internally adjustable headlights height, audible headlights on reminder, digital odometer and clock, front and rear interior welcome lights, adjustable dashboard lights, rear screen integrated ariel, driver and passenger seat back pockets, rear center headrests and 3-point seatbelts, sunglass' storage, pollen filter, fuel filter release, low fuel warning light, front power socket, front map lights, rear cup holders, and ashtrays in both the front and back. The cabin is spacious and has impressive head, leg and shoulder room in both the front and the rear. The seats were developed after Honda worked closely with Schukra, the experts in seat design. They are built to pull your pelvis into the seat for full spinal support, they also offer great lateral and under thigh support, imperative for long journeys. They are without doubt, the most comfortable seats we have ever tested.
On a safety level, the Accord Executive model comes equipped with all-round disk brakes, ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake force distribution) and EBA (emergency brake assist as standard, ensuring the Accord brakes reassuringly well. Alongside the awesome braking power, the Accords come with duel front SRS airbags, duel cutain SRS airbags in the front and rear, side impact protection beams, front seatbelt pre-tensioners , height adjustable front seat belts, ISOFIX child seat restraint mechanism, high level rear brake, external temperature monitor, headlight washers, Honda deadlocks, externally visible vehicle identification number (VIN), lockable gearbox, locking wheel nuts, remote keyless entry and interior alarm monitoring system. The steering wheel has 4 degrees of tilt and 40mm of telescopic adjustment. Couple that with adjustable leg length and recline, it enables you to find the perfect driving position.
The duel zone climate control comes as standard and allows passengers to set their preferred temperature independently of each other, or, you may opt to make use of the glass electric tilt or slide sunroof with sunshade.
The 6 CD tuner with RDS radio comes with front and rear parcel shelf speakers providing good sound quality. The steering wheel mounted controls are a great safety feature also included.
The Accord comes with the usual Honda reliability and is supported by a 3 year/90,000 mile (whichever comes first) warranty.
