The Ford Focus

The Ford Focus is a nice small and compact car and it comes in 3 types, you can have a sedan model, a wagon a 3 door and 5 door hatchback models. The Focus is the entry level car on the market so this mean its not an luxurious car but has a lot character, With it cheap price tag and expressive style has made this car one of the most popular compact cars on the market.
It wasn't until the year 2000 that Ford released the “world version" of the Focus, this means they planned on selling it world wide, this would be very similar to the Focus that is sold in the United States. Ford made a few changes to the Focus to make it more appealing to the buyers in Europe, better handling and steering was integrated, the design of the car was also changed slightly.
The Ford Focus is a very fun car to drive and it one of the top economical cars on the market. Both the five door and three door models look a bit sporty but practical at the same time giving the owner the best of both worlds in his or her car.
In 2005 Ford made a few refreshing changed to the Focus, making minor cosmetic changes on the outside but building a new dash layout inside and even a change to the engine specs. They also made some body style changes. The 3 door and 5 door models come in a few different types; these are the S, SE, SES and the sporty version the ST. While the S models are very basic the SE type has leather seats and a better interior, the ST version is the most handsome of them all with its alloy wheels etc.
The Focus ST has a greatly improved set of brakes and a sports tuned 2.3 ltr engine that pumps out over 150 BHP, the suspension has also been greatly improved to give the Focus that sports handling feel. The none ST versions of the Ford Focus are also good with a 136 BHP 2 ltr engine that has fantastic MPG ratio. The 5 speed gearbox is the standard on the focus but the smaller models can have a 4 speed box instead.
The Ford focus has been on the car market for many years now and the competition has released their own models to try and steal some of the market from them. There have been many online reviews of the focus giving away its bad point, people have spoken about the build quality and the material quality, the safety of the car has been questioned a couple of time and people think the inside storage could have been better.
Focus models sold from 2000 to 03 came with either an anemic SOHC, 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine rated for 110 horsepower or a preferable DOHC 2.0-liter engine called the Zetec that was good for 130 hp. Ford also added a 2.3-liter inline four to the lineup in 2004 and it offered 145 hp and cleaner emissions. The 2.3-liter was optional on all 2004 Focus models, except in California, New York, Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont, where it was standard across the line.
For a short while Ford released a SVT Focus which had a huge 170 BHP 4 cylinder engine and a 6 speed gear box to suit. It was only a three door model and many young buyers enjoyed this car. In 2004 Ford also released a five door version to clam more of the market.
